Food review: Din Tai Fung Dumpling House

This is Din Tai Fung, a dumpling house located in Arcadia, CA by way of Taiwan (the original one is there). What set's this apart from the numerous other dumpling joints is that they handmake the wrappers there and they offer a crab meat dumpling. The inside of the restaurant is also a little nicer than other dumpling spots. All these make the place pricier than usual.

A window at the entrance to show how fresh everything is made.

Popular with many asian restuarants nowadays, you mark what you want and hand off your order to the server.

There's been a lot of hype about this place when it first opened a few years ago. There used to be a line out the door and long waits. It's my third time here, It's good eats. The service is "so so." After they dropped the food off, we never saw them again. But what do you expect, it's a Chinese restaurant. The other hole-in-the-wall spots are equally as good if not better. I prefer to go to those instead even though they're a bit grimier.
